ABOUT ME

Portia Gana is an opinionated adventurous model who is on a mission to spread love while exploring the world, unapologetically expressing her thoughts on any and all topics that come her way.

Portia is a global citizen with claim to triple nationalities. Born in Nigeria, she was raised in a nomadic lifestyle mostly in Canada by Ghanaian parents, giving her a balanced experience of eastern and western cultures. This made her develop a unique perspective on life. She is a fiercely dynamic woman with passion for love, fashion, and beauty inside out. Recently, she has been tapping into her love of writing more and more so brace yourself to read all about her thoughts on life, travel, fashion, food and occasionally her least favourite thing in life, politics.

 

Although Portia dabbled with modeling in her teen years her interest in it did not peak until 2011 after an impromptu photo shoot with an expert candid photographer. Since then she has engulfed herself in the fashion and entertainment industry both behind the scenes and in the spotlight, modeling, acting, designing, writing, presenting, hosting, directing, editing, you name it. In the past few years she has expanded her experience with the African fashion and entertainment industry by co-hosting popular TV shows in Ghana, hosting her own web radio show, co-hosting popular Ghanaian radio shows, and modeling for some top Ghanaian design brands.

 

Portia is currently pursuing her quest to represent the neglected sizes in the fashion industry, sizes 8-12, and changing the way women's bodies are negatively portrayed in the media.

As a woman afflicted with endometriosis, a chronic pain disease, she is passionate about women's health and awareness of often ignored health issues.
